We customized the layout and functionality of an open-source e-commerce platform to deliver online samples of from the 200+ program library.

What’s for sale? Full episodes in MP3-download or CD format. Freebies include a podcast (featured on iTunes), and a special audio player with a different program every week.

humankind” in Google, and this site is number one. We accomplished this by making sure there is great text content for searching, and the pages also have relevant META tags.

We have also helped Humanmedia staff reach out to public radio stations, providing links and logos to generate traffic to the site, and many of the pages have links from the site to useful information about the program topics. Google Analytics tweaking has resulted in a significant drop in the bounce rate.

Gaila Fund

Web Design

Adams Design

database

django

e-commerce

featured

nonprofit

photography

website link
<guid

Since we wear many hats ourselves–design, programming, illustration, video–we also created a “light box” camera rig to achieve consistent results when photographing the hats.

This site relies heavily on social networking tools, such as Facebook and Flickr, since, as a nonprofit, there is not much budget for marketing, and it is hoped that word-of-mouth will generate sales.

Behind the scenes, we set up a database, with a user interface created with Django, to allow the client to maintain quantities of products available, uploading new photos as needed. Throughout the site, there is extensive use of jQuery for visual effects, with a little bit of Flash thrown in for good measure. The content can also be changed by the client using our proprietary “QuickFix” editor.

Melrose Alliance Against Violence

Web Design

database

featured

nonprofit

slideshow

website link

wordpress
<guid

But for a small organization, it became quite time-consuming as the site grew. Through the use of WordPress, we made it possible for the staff to update the site in-house. And with a limited budget, every penny saved there can help further the cause of their mission, preventing violence and domestic abuse.

IARFUS

Web Design

e-commerce

nonprofit

scheduling

website link

wordpress
<guid
