Several clients have noticed traffic from “Boardman,” which is a town in Oregon (population: 3000 or so).
This is probably bogus traffic from some “black hat” SEO vendors, whose goal is difficult to discern. Or, it could be from Amazon, depending on who you ask. The fact that there is an Amazon data center there points to it being something that Amazon is doing. (Or, clever hackers could be using the data center to crawl websites looking for back doors to exploit.) Basically, you can ignore those visits. With some work, the data can be filtered out in Google Analytics, but it may be more trouble than it is worth.
Bottom line, ignore Boardman visits. They’re not real visitors.
